Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE (TNQIT) delivers over 300 training programs in more than 20 vocational training areas across six campuses. Almost 15,000 domestic and international students enrol every year, undertaking training for industry-recognised qualifications ranging from Certificate I to Advanced Diploma level.
TNQIT is TAFE Queensland’s Lead Centre for the development and delivery of Indigenous training programs. The Institute is a leader in innovative remote delivery, a direct result of meeting the challenges of providing training across a sparsely populated, 268,000 square kilometre area stretching from Papua New Guinea south to Cardwell and west to the Gulf of Carpentaria. Tropical North Queensland TAFE was awarded Public Training Provider of the Year at the 2009 Queensland Training Awards and Large Training Provider of the Year at the 2008 Construction Skills Queensland Excellence Awards.
