Mr Scott has 30 years of international mining experience covering all aspects of the minerals industry, with a strong emphasis on the development and operation of gold mines. This included the commencement of operations at the Bounty Gold Mine (WA), Tanami Mine (NT) and the Beaconsfield Mine (Tas), and earlier in his career working as a mining engineer at the Ashanti Gold Mine in West Africa. He has also recently spent a number of years working as an independent mining consultant.
Mr Scott is a qualified Mining Engineer, an honours graduate from the Royal School of Mines Imperial College, University of London (1977). He has extensive board experience including serving as the MD of Otter Gold Mines Ltd (ASX listed) and COO of Ivernia Inc (TSX-listed). Mr Scott was CEO of the Queensland coal producer Foxleigh Mining in the period 2001-2005. He is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
